Big personality in a little body - "Going Places" is a hand-engraving (hair by hair) capturing the confidence, energy and character of a Maltese puppy.

This listing is for 8x10" prints of the original hand-engraved portrait. Archival inks on Smooth Matte fine art paper produce rich velvety blacks and a wide range of tones to capture every detail of the original engraving. Prints have no borders to allow for personal framing options.

This style of hand-illustrated engraving has been around since the 1800s. A panel of Masonite is covered with white clay and then a thin layer of black India ink on top. Using a small Xacto blade and mini fiberglass brush, I carve through the black ink, exposing variable degrees of the white clay beneath.
